Attention all Sound designers, Recordists, Music Producers, Filmmakers, Web/game Developers, Audio Freaks!

We have just launched www.soundsnap.com, an online platform for finding and sharing free sound effects and loops- legally!

It is a collection of original sounds made or recorded by its users, and not songs or sound FX found on commercial libraries or sample CD's.

Check it out because:

- It has 30.000 sounds contributed by different sound and music people from all over the world.

- It has a friendly interface that makes it really fast and easy to find what you are looking for.

- Contributors include: Mike Dred (Rephlex records), SI BEGG (Ninjatune, Mute), Monster X ( Peace off records ) , Justine Angus (Batman Begins, Happy Feet), Stuart Duffield (Game Sound for Konami, Acclaim, Fox Sound Studios)

- Its time to stop paying for sample CD's and libraries, going to paid sites and searching through the junk that most free websites have.

one problem...your signup procedure is worse than a sumo trying to eat vegetables. It gives me this continual looping thing saying i already used my login. makes me madder than a hornet in a jar of jelly!!! get it sorted.

other than that quality site.

I hope you are able to monitor it so illegal stuff isn't uploaded for sharing.
I'd like to be able to use some sounds without wondering where they came from.

you can download without fear , all samples here are legal and you can find them only on soundsnap

Just one suggestion. For those who aren't registered and try to download, it takes you to a "you don't have permission to view this" type of page. Instead, maybe it should take you to a registration screen?

Otherwise, thanks for this! It will go nicely with the Freesound project.

i really like the site alot. the only thing is you have to dl one at a time. since there is so many it would be awesome if you could use a basket or packs. so it could be more conveniant. regardless it is a very generous site and good quality samples. thanks
