ReCycle is a stand alone application. v2.1 comes with Reason Adapted, which is a stripped down version of Reason. So you can make youre REX files in ReCycle and play them from there.

Relax, you don't need to go shopping to make use of your ReCycled loops. The ReCycle 2.1 toolkit contains three separate applications - ReCycle, Reason Adapted and Reload - allowing you to turn your REX files into music, right out of the box! So when you're done perfecting and fine tuning your loops and breaks in ReCycle, just save them as REX files and use them with the REX players or samplers available in your Reason Adapted.

Cool! Thanks to everyone for your help. What I am hoping to do is to use Stylus RMX to play whatever I want it to.
Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible. I think it's in my basement... let me go upstairs and check.

The one and only downside with Recycle versions 2x up is you cannot actually save as REX format only as RX2. I have no idea why propellerhead make a such a stupid move. I can only speculate that they attempted to FORCE YOU user to HAVE TO use Reason with RX2 loops. If this is the case then its pretty discusting! Considering how many other REX apps only open REX files and not RX2..
Propellerhead what where you thinking??
