Korg X-50/microX owners - editor question/problem...

I'm trying to install the editor software for my Korg X-50, which I'm told is the same as the Micro-X (the software, not the synth). Upon trying to run the WinXP installer for the VST, I get an error immediately:
"Could not access network location C:/Program Files/VstPlugins."
Options are "Try Again" and "Cancel". The Standalone installed fine, and I've downloaded the latest version of the installer to be sure it's not that... now, I do have a Program Files -> VstPlugins folder, but it's here:
C:\Program Files\VstPlugins
The slash directions are reversed. Could this be the problem? If so, what can I do about it? Korg.com of course has no useful information on the topic.
Thanks in advance!

You should get an opportunity to select an install location at some point. Just select the correct path then. I never bothered reinstalling mine after I rebuilt my workstation, so it's ages since I did it, but I had no problems and mine would have gone into an entirely different location [D:\NOVAkILL\ORION\VSTinstruments] without any problems.

Nope, it doesn't have any options whatsoever. The installer simply asks whether you want to install the VST, RTAS, or Standalone - the Standalone installs fine, the VST option instantly takes me to that error window.

I'll try the installer when I get home tonight and let you know how it goes.

OK, just tried the 1.02 VSTi installer and the first screen after you accept the EULA asks for an install path. Mine defaulted to M:\ [probably because it's my biggest, emptiest drive] but there is a Browse button right there. I thought you may be trying to run it from the .msi installer, rather than the main .exe, but that also works fine for me under WinXP SP2.

I get the same error running the EXE and the MSI. This is using 1.02 - I also use WinXP SP2. No EULA screen or browse button. I DO get those screens trying to install the RTAS...

Weird. I wonder if your installer might be corrupt or something?

Yeah, I really have no idea. The installer off the CD doesn't work, AND the installer from their site doesn't work. It has to be a problem with my computer, but my computer is not only rather new, it's also optimized for audio. I've never had this problem with anything else. I did email KORG about it, waiting for a response now.
