I've just bought a Roland XV-5050 and it's great, but I'm having some problems with intergrating it with my computer.

I use Cubase SX3. I have the manual, but it doesn't say anything about USB-connection, that I prefer, only about MIDI.

So I want to connect it to my SX3 with USB and control it with my m-audio Radium61, it is also connected with USB. When I create a miditrack I can play the patches with my keyboard, but I can only hear audio if I connect my headphones to the direct headphone output on the XV-5050 module.

My problem is that I can't get any sound out of my soundcard and out of my speakers. Cubase doensn't show any audio activity only midi-in and midi-out.
This way I can't record anything and make any playback out of my monitors.

Please help me!

The USB is for midi only.It does'nt pass any audio thru the USB. You need to connect it like any other audio.
You could connect it to the soundcard inputs and monitor it thru Cubase if you don't have a mixer.

thanks for the quick answer.

So I need to connect the audio output to a channel in my Soundcraft mixer?
Or monitor it thru Cubase - what do you exactly mean by this? Sorry I'm bit of a rookie.

If you just have a standard soundcard on your computer, then you can connect the audio outs of the Roland to a stereo y-cable that has an 1/8" connector and plug it into the audio in of your soundcard (or 1/4" if you soundcard supports it).

I would suggest going through the Soundcraft, however.
