Cool! I've never really spent any time with Oatmeal, this video inspires me to load it up and give her a go, sounds nice. I also learned not to buy an Edirol midi controller, the key clack would drive me nuts unless he's just pounding the heck out of those keys.

yes it inspired me to download Oatmeal again also
I have the same keyboard that he has and i clicks and Clacks, and it has that rubbery sliding noise on the modwheel.

Whoa.
Whoa, how did this wind up here. :O
D-Fusion: Thanks for the input. I was actually bored that day and decided to try out the video record function on my dad's 6.1mpx Kodak Digital camera. And well...that's the result.. Dunno if there'll be any more of those anytime soon.
PS: Having a go at making a new bank, this time with patches made out of scratch with the musician in mind.
*hides in corner*
Teksonik: I'm surprised there isn't much professional attention to this synth. Yeah, the normal interface is yuck (reason why grymmjack's skin is shown on the vid
), but being only a recent discovery for me, for a freebie it's got half the power of Albino, along with some surprises of its own, notably that flexible user oscillator drawing mechanism.
In short, Oatmeal can be very powerful if the randomizer isn't the only thing the "patch programmer" uses.
As for the EDIROL PCR-M80...yeah it is kinda iffy but hey, it was better than what the music store offered for AU$100 less. Only had it for a year, and it hasn't caused me any problems so far. (Also, didn't exactly have $1K to fling around at the time.)
Key clanging, never noticed nor cared about it. It's not like a mic's going to be on the keys.
elv: Meh. This is my first owned anything-Roland... The only other thing I have is my el-cheapo CASIO CTK-501 from 1999... :\ (Anything Yamaha is a huge plus in my eyes.
)

Yeah, the skin is what kept me away from Oatmeal - my eyes 'aint what they used to be.MaliceX wrote:...I'm surprised there isn't much professional attention to this synth. Yeah, the normal interface is yuck (reason why grymmjack's skin is shown on the vid)...
So does anyone know where all the nice skins are at..?
I thought I saw a thread about that once but I can't find it now.
[edit] It's okay, I found it. If anyone else wants it...

Cool vid Malice. Nice bit of playing for a once-through take. (at least, it appears once though... otherwise, pretty seamless edititing as well!
)

I'm a fan too. Spoke to Fuzzpilz about it and he mentioned being able to work on something new after the summer.
most underrated/fun synth to use.
the additional skins included in the 37-4 pack are pretty useful too as I'm not exactly a fan of the original GUI either.
