I am new to all of the above programs (live, augustus and FCB1010) I play the cello and want to record a loop, stop the loop and record another loop over the top of that (etc...) but also be able to effect each layer as I go... hopefully using the foot controller. Any ideas?

Hey there.I'm also using the FCB1010 to record loops in Live. For me, the trick was to get the FCB to emulate mackie machine control. That way, you don't have to map individual record buttons in Live, it will simply record in whatever box you have highlighted in Session view. I also have undo, scene launch and move cursor up/down & left/right on the FCB.
PM me if you want my sysex bank for the FCB. I had Andreas Wetterberg from http://www.covops.org/ (http://www.covops.org/) help me set it up, and I'm not a sysex-expert, but maybe I can help. My website has some youtube videos of me performing with Live and the FCB.
