Using a US Korg Electribe MX product in UK

I have a U.S Korg Electribe MX and I'm a bit scared to use it here in the UK as I'm not very bright when it comes to electrical health and safety etc.
I'm wondering what's the best/safest practice in plugging this in so I can start using it...
The Power Supply is labelled with the following info:
AC/AC Power Supply (KA163E)
Class 2 Transformer
Input: 120V ~ 60Hz 35W
Output: 9V ~ 3000mA
The plug itself is a US two prong plug also. I have a universal adaptor, but I'm not taking a gamble that it is up to the job without some advice from someone in the know
The universal adapter I have has a switch with 2 options:
220VAC > 110VAC Thru-Transformer
and 110VAC > 110VAC - AS Adaptor plug.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

I think you need a transformer but not don't know which one.You can get plug converters fairly easily so you should be able to use a combo of that and a transformer.Or maybe there are two pin to three pin transformers..

The 220VAC > 110VAC Thru-Transformer should do the trick me thinks.
It converts the 220V from mains socket to 110V your adapter for the Korg requires.

If it's an external power supply have you considered getting a new one? I'm sure there's plenty of ones that output 9V and 3000mA. I think the Transformer(tm) way is ment as a "temporary solution"..

maplins do a transformer to knock the voltage down for about £20,or as said above just use a power supply that supplys 9v and 3000 ma.

The EMX has a weird 5 pin input, not seen it before but i assume it's korg specific.Looks a bit like a midi connection.mkdr wrote:If it's an external power supply have you considered getting a new one? Go to a music store and ask them to order you a replacement Korg power supply.
