Where to get replacement faders for MIDI controller?

I'm having a very bad day. I won't bore you with the details. However, on my way to work today, I was transporting my NEW keyboard controller, an Edirol PCR-M50. When I got to where I was going, I noticed that I had knocked off one of the faders......

It could be anywhere, and I've looked everywhere here. It's most likely sitting in the grass somewhere by my house.

It didn't break off, as they just pop off. It's just the rubber cap, not the stem or anything. So I was wondering, where do you get replacement faders? Surely they are SOMEWHERE. But I haven't been able to find them on the internet anywhere.

I appreciate the help if anyone knows where to get them. I'm sure that many people have lost fader caps before?

My first thought in a situation like this is always to contact the manufacturer of the product. Roland/Edirol builds their boxes in overseas factories sourced with overseas parts, and if you want a new fader cap that matches the ones you have already, your best chance by far is to talk to someone who has boxes full of them in the shop... and that would be Roland's facility in Los Angeles.

I know that it's very popular to slag off manufacturers as being unresponsive to buyers and basically useless when it comes to aftermarket support, but in my limited experience Roland's tech support people are fantastic, and something this simple is probably easily solved.

I will be curious to hear what your results are; if you can't get help from them, say so here and I'll ask some of my writers who build their own gear about likely sources for you. I assume you've tried Digi-Key?

Good luck, and look on the bright side: at least you didn't snap the fader off entirely, in which case you'd be looking at an expensive repair, or if you were still under warranty, replacing your keyboard entirely.

Yeah, it's still under warranty, but as you say, it's just a fader cap.

I just have this wish that there was a faster way, as it seems that some manufacturers take forever for small things like this. But I guess you're right, the manufacturer should have them. I live here in Nashville, so it's too bad they didn't have a factory here!

I guess I'll call them on Monday. And I haven't even heard of Digi-Key. What is that?

Thanks for the help. I'll update this post once I find something. Roland isn't open until Monday, so it will have to wait.

But it just sucks. I'll be working all weekend without that fader! Such a small thing that can make such a huge mental difference. I JUST got this a couple days ago. At least nothing is broken though.
