Hi all,
I desperately need to get some good monitors for my setup. These were anyeays the weakest link in my setup & some people have been pointing this out to me.Also the sound is so different when i play back my music in a proper monitoring system.
i have narrowed my choices down to these 2 monitors.Tho the MSP 5 is little more than what i can really afford at this point of time & the price of the M-audio here sits perfectly in my budget.
So please all you people out here in KVR do help & advice me in what to do.
Thanking you all in advance,
peace & love,
Mizo

MSP5 are probably the most decent sounding monitors in their price range. I don't know about BX5A, but I say that if you care about quality, wait a little and spend a little more money on the MSP5, you can't go wrong with them at ~$250.

a very popular subject these days!
I don't know the yamaha's you are talking about......but I do have some "first series" bx5's. (btw, I just updated to krk vtx4's, but those are more expensive)
I have to say, the original bx5's are still a fairly good monitor. There are two things I don't like....
a. They are maudio. This "usually" means poor quality/longevity.......but again, I've had these a while (like 4 years?)
b. Though they sound fine, they are not very "revealing". What I'm trying to say is that monitors are not stereo speakers.....so what you are looking for is something that "speaks" as far as separation, how any part (individual drums, bass, how ever many guitars, etc) stands out, etc. However, this is just my opionion..........
You'll get more than a few responses, so take your time and try to put all the pieces together (if that makes sense)
