I know the orville has 4 channels and the H8000 has 8 but are all the algorithms the same?

And yes, the algorithms are the same.Q: Is the H8000 series more powerful than the Orville?
A: Yes, The DSP themselves are more powerful, and run at a a higher clock speed, which yields more processing power. In addition, the H8000s can run a single program on both DSPs simultaneously. This more than doubles the effective power when running a single preset.

No the algs are not the same.
Because the H8000 has 8 outs there are many 5.1 and other surround format effects.
The general bulk of the library however is the same.
Because the H8000 has more horespower you can run larger algs as well as use the two processors as a monolithic structure to run really complex stuff or larger stuff at 96K.
Soundwise they are equal.
