And another question.
I'm sure it was asked b4, but I don't find something in my short time.
A nice orchestra string collection in akai, should not cost more then
100 €. May be could also be sf2 format.

Which is the best for a low price?
Some Information's regarding this that pops up in your mind?

Thanks

"Ultimate Strings" is in Akai format. Its an old CD with a big sound, very hollywood'ish. Dark, bombastic cello. Thick string ensembles. But of course you will be rather limited in expression. There are no multiple velocity layers. No up/down bow samples. It works best with a slow attack. No solo strings either.

Easily converted to SF2 format (which is what I use)
Price? should be low.

Oh jes, I had this before.
I loved it.
Lost it unfortunately somehow.
You know where to get the price?

No, I got it free. Btw I stand corrected, there ARE velocity layers and up/down strokes according to the description on EastWest's site. I didn't notice. Well they sell it in GIGA format, for $300 which I think is way too much. You better try to get it second hand.

300 $, holla, not bad.
Seems really to much.
Are there any soundfont libraries useful an worth the money?

You might want to check out String Doubler from www.stringdoubler.com . For $34.95 you get a multi-format CD which has both Akai and soundfont versions. There are some mp3 demos at the website.

Maybe http://www.sonivoxmi.com/ProductDetail. ... cStringsV2?

Downloadable virtual instrument for Windows - maybe not that flexible but Sonivox / Sonic Implants strings sound really really good no matter how cut down.
never stop loving music.

This is an excellent choice. They also have a slightly different (expanded) DVD version that they made for m-audio.

... and another version with the giga player.

Cool stuff comes together here.
Are there other nice things like this.
What about freeware, something like Celofan.
This one is a beauty.
Is there something similar for strings?

There's also the Cakewalk Studio Instruments which has strings, drums, bass and e-piano for $49.99:
