I'm trying to sample this song into this beat here. But something ain't right, and the rhythm seems broken. Is there anything I can do to rescue it, or would I have to reconstruct the sample from scratch, say with virtual instruments or sample libraries? And if so, any recommendations? It has to sound real though. The full Cubase project (using Kontakt 2 and some plugins as well) can be downloaded here.

Thank you for reading this. Enjoy your day!

on the first two downbeats, the brass is significantly later than the kick drum - to my ears, that's what makes it sound stilted - the transition from the end of the bar to the start of the next.
do you have these samples seperately ? if so, try shifting those first two brass stbas "left" a bit.

Actually the first sample I use, the one that's repeated, isn't long enough, so I'm curious if it's worth trying to extend its tail and what would be the best way of doing so. Thanks.
