Trying to learn how they create this discoy type of sound.

Obviously some pitch modulation here, perhaps with an envelope generator with slightly longer attack than the notes, or even lfo'd at a low speed.
Whats more I'm having real problems re-creating the tonal quality, obviously this some vintage synth, my thoughts are it sounds like one of the vintage roland range?
Any help?

Sounds like it's for the most part lots of compression, ducking and compression induced saturation.
In addition to that on example two there seems to be slight intonational pitch ..instability like tape warping (pitch evenlope on a sampled brass-y chord?).
For the most part I do believe it's the mix causing this.
