I am just shopping around for a new midi interface and require 4 inputs and 2 outputs, but I think the closest I will find is 4 inputs / 4 outputs.

All I've found so far is the very old midisport 4x4. Should I go for this, or is there something newer and more reliable out there? Does M-audio have a monopoly on the midi interface market or are there others?

MOTU also still makes MIDI interfaces:

You could try this from ESI. Got one myself for over 3 years now, never had a problem with it...
