Im new to all of this so please excuse my noobiness, what Im basically tryingto do is that I have this drum sequencer program but all the samples sound fake and I have the drumkit from hell 2 and all the samples are in .nki and I was wondering if there was any way that I could change the format of those files?

Post

The Kontakt format is the .nki file (program file) and usually a folder full of .wav samples to go with it. Are you missing the audio file folder?

Post

I checked all of the folders and all I found were a bunch of.nki and .nkm files.

The .nks files are the audio. You will need to convert to wav if possible. There are converters out there for various formats but it may be that the format is protected. I would imagine this to be the case.

Yeah it could be that, I just thought that I was going to be able to transfer the samples from DMH to the other, I would have never thought that I was going to come to this problem.

Certain Kontakt sample sets (usually commercial ones) are in a monolithic format that can't be broken down into wavs.

If you or a friend have Kontakt 2, You can probably load the patches up one at a time and save them one at a time and what you will most likely get are the .nki files and the sample files as .wav.

You can probably load kontakt into this http://www.kvraudio.com/get/977.html

then save them as waves.
