Douglas has decided it's not worth his time keeping the shop open and has announced a final production run will only be made if sufficient people contact him, committing to a purchase. Just thought I'd let folks here know.

Hmm... I stopped look at ns_kit a long time ago when there was just a free version, but the license seemed to say that you weren't allowed to use it commercially. I didn't even know that they had come out with a commercial version! (Or maybe I just misunderstood, which is as likely as not.) It looks good. And now I've missed it. Congas look nice, too.

Sent in an email. Hopefully there will be enough interest for a final batch of DVDs. I feel kind of stupid that I never purchased these in the past.

He really was selling an incredible amount of sample data for a very small price.

Wow. I feel very fortunate to have bought the DVD set.

This is a must-have drum library. For the price it's incredible also. It could definitely be a $500-600 library. The sampling is SO extensive.

Are we talking about the OEM version?

I have the normal version, I got it sometime last year.

The OEM version is the same content, just without the fancy packaging, right?

EDIT: Or did you mean asking whether the final production run would be the OEM version or the normal version?

Really hope this happens, the demos are sensational. Douglas seems a little flaky with returning emails, though

Oh, too bad. I don't really know whether I should jump into this even though I like how it sounds and it's very flexible and cheap. I guess I might just go with the download congas in the end if he continues selling them.

I just downloaded the ns_kit7free from http://www.naturalstudio.co.uk and used Jamstix 2 to subhost Battery3 using this kit with a mapping I found through Natural Studio's forum. I let a couple of JS2 virtual drummers take it for a spin, and I must say, I WANT the full version.

I wrote a e-mail begging for a final production run. JS2 and ns_kit7 were made for each other!

Maybe someone who's already corresponded with him should tell him we've emailed? He may have a really aggressive junk mail filter, as I haven't heard from him either

The NSKit7free is nothing like the commercial version, though. Just bear that in mind, too.

EDIT: Just thinking, if Douglas is closing shop... wouldn't it be great if a big company bought the product from him to sell? Or at least made a distribution agreement? It's such a great drum library, it'd be a pity to see it go down.
