I don't see how to do aftertouch at all. I see how to assign MIDI controllers (1 = ModWheel) but some presets that don't have anything listed in the MIDI-CTL dialog are affected by the mod wheel so I am a bit confused.
Any help here is appreciated.

That's from when ST2.0 came out. Anyway, it's a mistake. Aftertouch is not selectable as a source in the midi control drop down. I wish it was too. But, for some reason it isn't. There are some sounds with aftertouch response build in though.

I would like the same thing, especially after having messed around with aftertouch and using it in combination with different modulation matrix settings on Wusikstation, I really wish ST had this ability - it's a very intuituve way to be expressive without having to take a hand off the keys, so if doing a pad, you can bring things like freq sweeps or volumes of other layers in or out based on pressure - it' pretty cool.
On some keyboards, you can remap what gets sent for the various controllers. I wonder if you can remap Aftertouch to some midi cc and then control the parameter with the midi cc instead. Just a thought.

Perhaps aftertouch will be added in an update. I think if enough people requested it (not here in the forum but directly to IK) then it'd happen faster. I would like to have it too (even though we have it underneath the hood when we create sounds for it).

Aftertouch is one of the very basics and requesting IK to add it is akin to requesting modulation wheel midi control.
It should have been there from day 1.

No specific person,but you can select your country . Go to the Technical Support page and send in a Support Ticket. I agree it is important too. But, you'd think if it was so important that the many THOUSANDS of people that use SampleTank might have brought it up to IK since day 1 too! I make my comments to the developers when I get the window and have mentioned this since day 1. Apparently it is a little tricky to implement in the midi controller area (remember it DOES already have aftertouch built into some patches in the engine... maybe it can be added in the regular parameters though which would be nice I agree). But, anyway, every feature I've asked for has always had more priority if the company receives tons of requests for it. I've been running this forum for about 6 years now and it has only come up a few times! So aftertouch isn't as popular as you or I might think! But, if there's any feature you want in SampleTank I encourage you to email IK about it. The developers don't necessarily read this forum so you can't count on just saying it here. Send in your requests whether you think it should have had it in the first place or would be something you'd like to see personally.politcat wrote:thx. We need to push for this. The many thousands of people may not have complained, since, for example, if the electric piano in SampleTank has , say, a tremolo effect already assigned to the aftertouch, why complain ? It's there, so all is well. But I bet that if aftertouch was completely missing from all patches, from ST's synth engine, more people would complain.
Requesting this is like requesting butter for your sandwich, it HAS to be served on a sandwich !
sandwich = butter (better if its a fresh wholemeal roll)
synth = all standard expression controllers available to the user
I suppose I'm directing this post at IK, not you Squids, so I'll just go with the official request form...
