I got the KP3 today!
I can't get it to install its midi driver properly, though. It connects and claims to install, and the KP3 shows up in the device manager, but none of my midi apps can see it. I was expecting to find the KP3 in the list of midi devices that my apps choose from.
Any tips, guys?

Get the version off the website. Install it with the KP3 disconnected.

This is the first mp3 made using only the Kaoss Pad.
The loops are two drum loops from Sean (:10:), and a couple of pretty randomly picked loops, I can't remember what it was. This isn't meant to be a great song, but any instrument that can make me do this after two hours must be doing something right! :hihi:

Here.

I find myself wanting to apply different effects to different samples, and a way to save sounds to the SD card or to and from the computer without interrupting playback. Otherwise this is sooooo cool!

Oskar is in love with it, too. He figured it out real quick, and records himself yelling into a mic, speeds it up to proper smurfiness and applies grainy effects to it.

So can you do the neat timeline-drawing thing on the touchpad and route that as midi out info to your VSTs?

Weird, I must have turned off the hardware forum in my refresh preferences a while back I hadn't noticed this forum til I came looking for it to post something :)

Yup. Cutoff freq and resonance on one finger. :tu: All the pads can be set up to play notes or start and stop things, there's a fader and a couple of knobs... Nice. I've set it up as a control surface in Tracktion and Reason, and I finally found the "learn" button in Reaper... Very useful, and it looks like it is toddler-safe, too. Seems solid.

Now I have to whip out my soldering iron to fix the power adaptor input socket on my Zoom midi pedal board so I don't have to let go of my bass or guitar while I'm recording loops. And I should do something about my sound card situation, I need more I/Os. :o

Most of the time I've just been using it stand-alone though, recording crap off youtube and playing around with it.

The motion recording you mean? Yeah, it is sent out as MIDI in the same way as if you were controlling it by hand.

[edit]Hovmod beat me to it.
