hey all...trying to reproduce a somewhat common technique..and in this case i am wanting to apply it on percussion/drums. It's kind've hard to describe so i have provided a link of a song that demonstrates the effect. It is much more pronounced in the album version but i could only find a streaming live version. It is still obviously sampled though and you can hear the effect on the drums come in right at about 0:30.

i am wanting to use it in a very similar fashion so suggestions would be much appreciated!

perhaps the example was too vague..

please give me some feedback regardless if you really know the answer.
