Hi everyone,

any comments about Tiny-Q can apply here. Although I doubt, that this tiny plugin has any chance to win. But since I had this plugin already done as a study for new Electri-Q features, I thought I should release it for the DC07.

However, here's a plot of the featured 'shape' parameter, which is a brand new thing (as far as I know). With it, the user can change the shape from lowcut via low shelf to peak to highshelf to high cut:

Image

The light green curve is the default peak filter (@ -10dB). Light blue is a lowshelf (@ -10dB) and orange a highshelf (@ -10dB). The red curve gives you a high cut. The other curves show the continous steps in between.

Note that there is no blending here. All filter coeffitiens are calculated directly and thus result in the lowest possible CPU usage.

There will be an OSX version available as well, but I doubt I can make it till the DC07 is finished.

Enjoy,

Christian

PS: Congratulation to all the other contributors.

Cheers for the plug!

Would be great if you could implement this plot in the gui so you can visually see how you're shaping the sound.

You're kidding, aren't you? How should I add a graph to the already small GUI? Btw. there is a magnitude display on the bottom, which works 'by color' and is only 2 pixel wide (I couldn't affort more space).

But probably I can use the background behind the value to do some color code thing...

Wow this looks awesome. I don't have windows installed right now but are you saying the filter type change is just one continous knob? Thats pretty awesome.

Christian, any chance of an animated gif of each of those plots to see the transition? Doens't need to be smooth anim, but just to see the progression would be really interesting :)

Good plug btw! glad to see the mac dev is on the horizon.

ooh, now that's nice! You can almost visualise the poles and zeroes moving around in the unit circle! You should put that on your website.

You fixed it!

Thank you, sir, from the bottom of my modular loving little heart. Best of luck with the DC, Tiny-Q is in my top 5.

Hope other folks see this, too.

Furthermore you can choose whether the frequency is
displayed in Hertz or as a MIDI note. Just right click
on the frequency panel to access the popup menu.

And this.

The magnitude display on the bottom can also be used to choose the filter by frequency. Simply click into the display to choose the nearest filter. Drag it to change frequency & gain.

yeah,i don't quite get that one,it seems to go a bit crazy and sometimes throws my mouse pointer to the bottom corner of my screen.

It does go a bit crazy, but the freq. is displayed if I just click and don't drag too much. And yes, when it goes crazy it "throws my mouse pointer to the bottom corner of my screen".

I have similar problems running this in energyXT1.4 in wine. I cannot grab the controls accurately, the while I'm dragging it actually will switch parameters, otherwise I find it to be great. Just needs to be a little bit easier to use.
