"What sonic improvements does POD X3 have over PODxt?
While the model set in POD X3 is based on the amps and effects from PODxt, we redesigned many of the models to take advantage of improved components in POD X3 including its more powerful processors and converters - resulting in what we believe is a new level of clarity and sonic definition.
"
----------------------------
What do you guys make of it?
The video sounds terrible, in fact it doesn't sound much different at all my from my PODXTL.
The Dual amp feature sounds very weak compared to the GT-8 demo (remember the video with the blond curly haired dude?)
It seems like it is a PODXTL + all model packs + Bass + Vocal
If it is the case, I will be passing on this one.

it has a digital output, which of been nice a couple years ago...but it's not enough to get me excited....I'm not in a rush to demo one.
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I agree, I would have really liked the digital outs on my bean to avoid one conversion stage. But the analog outs on my PODxt are so quiet, it doesn't matter that much to me. I'm sure I'll check it out anyway, just to see.

I like it a lot. Might be my recording set up of choice, especially with the 2 signal chains at once. The musicians fiend shows it running $399 for the desktop model and $499 for the X3 Live.

Dont' you think that the dual amp feature in that video sounds like crap?System6 wrote:I like it a lot. Might be my recording set up of choice, especially with the 2 signal chains at once. The musicians fiend shows it running $399 for the desktop model and $499 for the X3 Live.

It doesn't sound "great" and I think they mixed the wrong elements. I am also a fan of the Guitar/bass at the same time if I'm tracking with a friend. The cool thing is that you will be able to set them mono, and mix them later, so they don;t even have to be anything alike. (I.E. One Clean from a DI split, one rectifier, and one JCM 900 would be a plethra of options.)A3ntar wrote:Dont' you think that the dual amp feature in that video sounds like crap?System6 wrote:I like it a lot. I won't be replacing my PODxt for a while, althought that double input feature looks useful, but this thread made me remember to upgrade my monkey and firmware and so on, and then I bought the FX junkie pack. The dollar's so cheap, it's a good time for us foreigners... Many of those effects were pointless, many were fun to play with (but still basically useless), but the TUBE DRIVE is absolutely awesome! My new SM58 and that thing made it FUN to sing!

You know you get 30 days to try the pack. How much is it 99$?
If I were you I would have sold my PODxt and baught a PODx3 for a 100$ more.
You can sell the PODxt it for 199 and you have spend 99$ on the pack, so for 99$ more, you could get yourself the PODx3 that already includes that pack and a lot more.

I sold my PODXTL for 400$ a few days ago, before the PODx3 was announced...for 99$ more, I am getting myself a PODx3
After the PODx3 was announced the value dropped by at least 100$

Or I can simply buy back another used PODXTL for 200$ and pocket the difference

I got my podXT for free, and the FX pack was $49. I don't feel ripped off at all, tbh.A3ntar wrote: You can sell the PODxt it for 199 and you have spend 99$ on the pack, so for 99$ more, you could get yourself the PODx3 that already includes that pack and a lot more.
