loads of traffic on freesound (including a really good binaural one of passing vehicles)Manc Chris wrote:Hi guys. Working on a project now and looking for samples of A) City center traffic and B) train station ambience. Any ideas?
theres a bunch of london underground samples i've had from there in the past as well, not sure that would fulfill the train station need but its worth a look.
you might end up cobbling a bunch of stuff together to get exactly what you want but....
cheers,
steve.

See 'Recording: 2 - Boarding a Train' and 'Recording: 5 - Getting of the Train in Deventer'
from: http://members.home.nl/mistermouse/fieldrec.htm
Both recordings were made in Dutch trains/trainstations, by me. If you use these, I would like to have a listen to the finished project.

..would be handy to have something like a se-rompler
with various sets of sounds... like car, train, airplane, downtown noise, milkman, candyman, firefighter, police etc.
but i guess it's more popular to create moogs, 303, korgs, etc.
instead of creating something humble but outstanding?!
the jellyfilter guy has a upcoming project,
something lika a car-VST...
"The Graphical interface allows setting the car and the listener to the desired destinations plus the road texture (standard street, stone, mud, etc) and direction of the car in relation to the user (curve, straight, etc). The tool automatically calculates the doppler effect (frequency shift resulting from velocity towards the listener, remember the ambulance sound)"

There are libraries full of them, but they're targetted towards Hollywood and cost a bunch.bambooman wrote:..would be handy to have something like a se-rompler

I'd love something like that. I bet someone's done it for Reaktor

or you could just send me out in my lunchbreak armed with a malfunctioning MD recorder and an unfeasibly good mic, for free.
i joined soundclick or freesound or whatever it's called, or both, with this intention, having been in need of something similar myself, and found the free libraries excellent, but always seemingly lacking the very thing i was looking for.
