Sorry if this has already been posted but using Logic Pro 8 or infact anything on a Mac, can you convert two samples (L) & (R) into one wav file?

Put the sample on 2 tracks. Offset one 10-20ms and pan left and right to suit.

You want to merge two mono files into one stereo file, right?
Open one mono file in a soundeditor, change the format from mono to stereo, keep the original in the left. Open the second mono file, and copy and 'mix' (not paste!) that into the right channel of the stereo file.

Or, in Logic, pan the first mono file fully left and send the output of the fader to a bus (not output 1-2) and pan the second mono file fully right and also set the output of this fader to the same bus. In this bus you have a stereo version made of the two mono files. The panning of the mono files dictates the stereo width.

I believe you can also do a digital mixdown inside Logic, but I am not sure if it includes the panning info. Note, digital mixdown (in Logic) is not the same as bouncing!
