Summary of 3rd party Kontakt sounds

Does anyone know of any website or place that lists all of the 3rd party sound libraries for kontakt? I'm particularly interested in sound collections that make extensive used of the filtering section rather than lots of samples. Smaller sample sets with lots of creative sounds using the sound sculpting capabilities of Konktakt. I know some of these exist because I occasionally stumble upon this one or that, but its mighty hard to keep track of what all is out there and decide about buying some....

...NI provides a list of sample libraries on their website, but it's a bit dated/incomplete, though (no wonder considering how many developers release Kontakt versions of their sample libraries). One sample library developer that offers some of the most creative libraries for Kontakt is definitely soniccouture. They have also developed most of the content for Kontakt Experience. Check their company forum here or visit their website www.soniccouture.com

There's a thread about this in The Cakewalk Instrument forum. Besides Cakewalk, Nucleus Soundlabs and ESoundz sell third-party sound sets. There are probably some others as well.Dewdman42 wrote:And actually I have the same question about Dimension Pro
In addition, EXSC and Chicken Translator support .sfz format, and sfzed will convert a soundfont to sfz.
As far as Kontakt, there's bunches of vendors - of what I have, there's NSL and ESoundz, PureMagnetik, Sampletekk (includes PMI), PrecisionSound, and a few others.

There are really TONS. Bela D Media and Impact Soundworks are two examples of people providing higher-end "composer" libraries (though, not at really high prices)... probably hundreds more CDs on Bigfish.

People who use Gigastudio must be asking this question for GS3. Kontakt 2 has so much stuff that if you don't know where to find 'em, you're just being plain lazy.
On the other hand, its quite hard to find libraries for gigastudio....

I believe Image-Line's Varazdin Orchestra will also be available for K2. DimPro is not as popular given its relative newness and that it doesn't stream, but it's my go-to rompler-synth.

Hi.
Prokits is a good site for small sized, individual collections and kits that try to use Kontakts features thoroughly. We have sound engineers who create some truly unique kits and anybody is welcome to sign up and become an engineer.

Thanks for the reccomendations guys. Per my original question, I'm specifically looking for soundsets that are more centered around the sound sculpting capabilities of Kontakt..rather than a listing of all the sample libraries. There are oodles of sample libraries out there, many of which either run on Kontakt or can be converted to run on Kontakt. I know that already. I'm looking for collections that people may have done that use a very simplified sample set and then extensive use of the sound scultping section in Kontakt to produce unique sounds. Something like NI's Kontakt Experience perhaps. But what else is out there?

One of our engineers utilises the sound sculpting capabilities of Kontakt in most of his kits - Michael Beitenholz. Check the links...maybe it's more the type of thing you are looking for.
I have a whole batch of Drumkits in development that will rely on Kontakt twisted dynamic sound shaping schemes. Will be released soon - hopefully....
Grainy - http://www.prokits.co.uk/productview.asp?productID=251 - A granular synthesis pad machine: a texture that can go from sonar-ping blippy to the Russian red army chorus to a desert wind howling in the night. Instead of playing a looped sound, this patch uses Kontakt scripting to implement granular synthesis, by firing thousands of tiny sound blips at your ears at random. The mod-wheel controls the grain frequency, and the a custom skin has additional controls for release-time, choral layer volume, and distortion.
Very Large Array - http://www.prokits.co.uk/productview.asp?productID=266 - The sound of a real radio telescope at work! All the samples in this kit are from my own unique field-recordings of the noise made as the Very Large Array radio telescopes track a distant quasar across the sky. Jodie Foster has nothing on this: its is way beyond atmospheric! Use whenever you wish to invoke the sounds of spiral density waves sloshing around in the interstellar medium, triggering another wave of star formation. As ever, the Kontakt patch has a few dedicated controls which change the volume of the creaky tail and bring in a subtle sine-wave.
There are many more - Michael Bietenholz - Take a look.

I just purchased 3 of his libraries thanks to your post.
