SR's OmniSoundz 2: The library for EVERY sampler is coming!

So, it's finally going to be a reality. For those that don't know, Sonic Reality used to have a product called "OmniSoundz" which was a 250 meg GM set for a variety of samplers like HALion, EXS, Kontakt (and back then we even did Sample Cell and others). It was 128 instruments that match up to the General Midi spec plus about 10 drum kits with percussion mapped out to GM standard which is great for playing standard midi files or just using as a "Meat and Potatoes" sound set.
We have some good news! First, that original OmniSoundz 1.2 sound set will soon be available as a downloadable product on www.esoundz.com (it's already available as "OmniSynth" for SampleTank and the Omni GM refill for Reason as downloadable products on www.esoundz.com
But, secondly, we're not far from releasing the long anticipated OmniSoundz II! The follow up to this multi-format general all-purpose sample library! For those that don't know, Sonic Reality did most of the sounds for NI's BandStand GM-Based instrument. A lot of the best sounds we used for that as well as many previously unreleased sounds are all in OmniSoundz 2 for the sampler of your choice! What samplers are we talking about? Here's the list of supported samplers in OmniSoundz 2:
SampleTank 2.5
Reason NNXT
HALion 3
EXS24mk2
Kontakt 2 (GM kits also readable by Battery)
Dimenson/SFZ
WusikStation
SoundFont
Giga
Structure
and more!
It is over 2GB in size (10 times the size of OmniSoundz 1) and includes a lot of GM Drum Kits some of which have up to 8 velocities per key (so these are seriously good GM drums and percussion). Each instrument is a very good representation with realism and quality performance so you have a nice home base sound set to work from. It's a great writing tool and it's also REALLY easy to find what you're looking for because it is laid out in the 128 GM standard listing!
Now, why mention it here on KVR before it's even been announced? I am glad you asked. That's because, as promised, we're going to offer this first as a GROUP BUY product before it is available as a regular product on www.esoundz.com (and maybe in other stores too). What we're going to do for the Group Buy is offer up more GM drum kits the more people join. I'll explain more about that later but we haven't done this before and I think it will make things interesting... not only will the price go down but the amount of drum kits will go up!!!! If you've ever complained that you wanted GM mapped kits as opposed to I-Map THIS is the product for you! (even if I-Map is still better...shhh, but these respond to Standard Midi Files which is important to a lot of people as well).
More info coming soon!

The GM Drum and Percussion sets alone will be worth it. This is a serious part of the collection this time!

Wasn't sure if we were going to update it for K3 or not. K2 makes it more universally compatible. But what do you think the advantages of doing it in K3 would be? I am curious.neverenoughfunk wrote:will this product utilitize the new features in kontakt 3 (hyper controls)?
I haven't even looked at hyper controls yet. What's that all about?

I don't think so. But we're giving Bandstand users a crossgrade discount. If it some material IS included in K3 then we'll extend that crossgrade discount to them too. Although... I don't see how it COULD be in K3 without me knowing... if you know what I mean.BERFAB wrote:Sounds cool.
Since SR also did the Bandstand sounds, is there any overlap with Kontakt 3's new 'Band' library of sounds?
Cheers

the hyper control are similar to the ones in reasons combinator/gold refill product and hypersonic 2.
i am not a tweaker but the hyper controls does have the ability to get you in the ballpark of the sound that you are look for.
Squid, can we look forward to a top of the line acountic piano patch (no disrespect, but not half baked but a "very" nice one)? i think the sampletank suite is missing that one element, serious acountic piano patches.
peace.

Will the OmniSoundzII load in SonicSynth2? OmniSoundz 2 will load into SampleTank 2.5 but not Sonik Synth 2.
There are high quality pianos in the SampleTank 2.5 sound set! They're great and there's even some FREE ones being given away on www.sampletank.com (if not now, soon). Plus, there's the Sonic Reality Piano Collection available at www.esoundz.com Plus there will be a really great piano or two in OmniSoundz 2!
