Manybass sounds great, but…
I don't understand how to program and use the keyswitch and MIDI-learn functions. Here is what I've tried:
  1. I transposed the keyboard one octave down, to reach the unassigned keys below B.
I loaded two sample sets in slot one and two.
In most cases, the little windows to the right of the slots showed the entry "OFF", but sometimes the first one showed "G8". Then I had to switch Manybass several times off and on.
Now I highlighted the first slot. In the MIDI-learn part of the GUI appeared "KeySW1" and "unassigned".
    I clicked on learn.
I pressed a key on my keyboard, e.g. G0. Nothing happened. The keyswitch remained unassigned.
I tried al lot of other keys. The MIDI indicator lighted up, showing that MIDI notes were received.
I moved the pitch bend wheel and the mod wheel. The assign window now showed CC#7 or CC#1. However, I still could't change the sound sets.
I loaded a program with keyswitches. Now I could change between the slots, using the MIDI-notes displayed, but I could not program my own keyswitches.
Sometimes, while trying to change programs or sample sets, my host Cubase 4.02 crashes. This happens only with Manybass.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi
The off box you see allows you to click and drag it to set the note you want the keyswitch on.
Now I highlighted the first slot. In the MIDI-learn part of the GUI appeared "KeySW1" and "unassigned".

The midi learn is for assigning keyswitches to buttons on your controller....not to notes. See the manual for details. I am pretty sure I explained this well enough in the manual including a part about the midi learn and how it works. The boxes beside the soundset loaded part, set note keyswitches. (Click and drag)

I also just sent you the new build of ManyBass which has Disk Streaming to try.

Hi Paul,

thank you very much. I got it now. I overlooked this little sentence: "If you wish you can also change the keyswitch note to any note you want by simply dragging the note display box."

Thank you also for sending me the disk streaming version of Manybass.

Regards

Roland

Hi Roland
Great to hear you got it all working. It is really easy once you get your head around it. Looks like the manual helped a bit too ;-) (I am kinda proud of it, as it was the first manual I did myself)
Thanks for reporting back.
