Whenever I start my DAW (using ASIO) I get a ringing on my monitors... It in the low-mid range..
I have a CRT monitor, but even when thats off I still get the ringing.. My sound card is an mbox 2..
Thanks,

First start your DAW, and THEN power up the monitors. At the end of the day switch of in reverse order: first the monitors and then the PC. That should help. It's just the waking-up quirks of your audio card.

Front of computer mic input is connected to your motherboard's builtin soundcard? Fine for Skype and MSN, but total crap for recording music. Just forget about using it...sb.net wrote:When ever I plugged a mic into front of my computer I could hear the windows moving..

Is your PC a laptop? They can have trouble with the PSU ground.

What kind of ringing is it, how does it sound? Does it appear when you generally listen to anything through the monitors (or have monitors / MBox on) or just when you use something with ASIO? Is it constant in the background or does it happen when you play something?
never stop loving music.

Thanks for replying!
It's just when ASIO is being used.. if my daw is off I don't hear a thing.. it's constantly in the background as as ASIO is on..
I wasn't using that for recording.. just for skype..C00kie wrote:Front of computer mic input is connected to your motherboard's builtin soundcard? It's a desktop pc.. All my sockets have ground plugs, but I don't know if their functional.. once I plugged my monitors into an old vintage synth and I didn't hear the noise..Is your PC a laptop? They can have trouble with the PSU ground.
