starting from this i want to describe some ideas\requests for xt2:
*use loop recording with autoslice not only for audio but even for midi.
*use slicing with external wav files or midi files, not only with recorded ones... for example: if i open an audio clip with a lenght f 4 measurens and i drag a wav file into it the file will be sliced... then the slices can be accessed like in xt1
* the audio file can be precisely moved inside the autoslicing clip. example: if i drag a song with 116pm inside a clip of 4 measure (setting the tempo to 116), i'll see the song sliced in a number of loops but the song begins not precisely on the loop\slice start, so i move the entire file untill i have the first bassdrum on the loop begin... and all the slices will be adjusted conseguently
* in xt1 i found that it's a bit difficult to cut single slices. if i want to play a the crsh sound from the first slice and the snare of the 11th a have to do a great number of tedious operations. an easy way to cut and assemble various slices together must be found!!
some ideas of mine:
1) live midi triggering of slices. if a midi track could be connected to the clip, the various slices (or the "tracks" where those are placed) could be associated to midi notes and played live or programmed (the midi note controls on\off of a slice... the slices are fixed in theyr position)
2) if every slice could have volume envelope, precise combinations could be built. it was great if many combinations oul be saved\stored in a set of triggerable patterns that can be midi controlled. expecialy for midi multislice clips this could the great!!
-- a simple "gate" envelope with on\off and fade in\out could be used instead of volume envelope...
3) autoslice of multiple files. if i drag another wav\midi file into the multisice clip this file will be sliced, and the slices will be stored in other slice tracks. a fixed number of sliced could be set to 127
this functions culd be usefull in studio. if separate audio and midi comps are planned, live midi triggering and pattern triggerning could be used easily on stage!!
