Hi all, I have a perplexing problem that I hope someone can shed some light towards a solution. I recently discovered Zebra (Zebra|CM included on CM mags DVD) and installed it. However, once I try to add it as an instrument in FL Studio 7, I get the following error message:

"Problem loading "Zebra|cm" for an unknown reason. Please make sure it has been istalled correctly".

This results from a stock installation from the CM dvd. Thinking it may have been a problem with the disk, I downloaded zebra2 from the u-he site, after reading that it would run in demo mode, so that I could evaluate the retail verson. I had assumed the installer would be 100%... however, I still encounter the same issue. (As an aside, this is not the first vst to do this; NIs Massive demo did the same thing, as well as other 3rd party freebies).

I meet or exceed the system reqs for Zebra2, >1Ghz AMD cpu, 1 gig ram on XP Pro.

Any thoughts? Perhaps a core system update or library file I may be missing?

Would love to give Zebra a whirl!

Thanks in advance!

check your system files, vcredist_x86.exe may be needed (although this has changed in the newest beta, the demo probably still requires it.)

It's not a demo, but bluedad is right, please install the microsoft runtime libraries:
The Manual wrote: Important: Zebra needs the file msvcr71.dll installed. This file usually resides in the system directory of Windows XP, however, it is possible that it could have been lost (after a system recovery for example). In this case please download the latest version and install to your system directory (c:\WINDOWS\system32):

Demo limitations:

after 10 minutes of use, Zebra will have its own mind on which notes to play...
Otherwise, it's fully functional, but like every software can contain bugs - use at your own risk!
This is written on the "Techy" section of your site. My apologies if I misconstrued the meaning. :)

I ensured that I have the C++ distro installed, but to no avail. Msvcr71.dll, is also present. This still did not help... my last resort was a fresh install of XP Pro w/ SP2, which still solved nothing. Perhaps there is a software conflict that I am unable to see... Anti-Virus (AVG) is running, but disabling it did nothing either.

I fear I am doomed to only be able to listen to the demonstration songs... I appreciate your efforts in suggestion a solution.

Hmmm.

If you're working with Cubase, have you tried deleting its "plugin blacklist" file? - Cubase is very naugthy in that respect.

No, I am running FL Studio 7. Its very bizarre to me too... because I downloaded and installed Triple Cheese and it runs perfectly. I assume these were compiled identically?

Triple Cheese is a bit older, but I think they're compiled on the same machine and same settings. Hmmm...
