hi there

i've been meaning to do this for ages, but this year i finally managed to get some decent recordings of fireworks on Guy Fawkes Night here in the uk , and in the spirit of the season i've made a free sample set of them.

pendle's fireworks!
a free 33mb soundfont of single hit firework bangs, pops and fizzes recorded on Bonfire night 5th November 2007 in and around Brighton UK.

you can listen to a wee demo and download the set from my site www.virb.com/dulcitone1884 (its way down at the bottom)

have fun

cheers

pendle

G'day mate,

Not sure I'll have much use for fireworks, but your generosity is appreciated, and I'm sure there'll be lots of people on here grabbing these :)

I finally used dulcitone and steel drum percussion room on something:

The only things other than the above two on this track are my real piano, and some programmed shakers - don't suppose you could do some nice quirky shaker sounds as an add-on? It's the one thing I reckon the percussion room is missing, and I'd be happy to pay extra...

:)

Edit: the above song is by Emerald Tablet - I'm doing a different version of it :)

Yoh!

Thanx, there will be the day when this will be needed here. :)

Thanks, nice samples. Funny with the cheers and shouts from the audience - like having both percussion and vocals in one sampleset :-)

Your commercial samplesets are very interesting too. Those binaural instrument samples sound more real than the real instruments :-)

Finally some praise for your idmonster music. "melted by the burning heat of true love" is my new favorite track. IMO, just a notch better than some of your monotonik releases that I also picked up( those are great too, but a bit heavy and glitchy for my current state of mind )

aw shucks , thanks ohm . funnily enough liveslice has also figured highly in some of the idmonster stuff. :)

watto. really nice dulcitone/percussion room track , exactly the kinda thing i had in mind when i was recording the percussion stuff...i'll look into the shakers thing.

by the way, the bottom octave of fireworks! is loosely gm drum mapped so you can kinda use it for making chunky hippity hoppity stylee beats.

Hi pendle -

I've tried downloading this twice and both times there was an error extracting the rar.

It gets to 42% and then I get this: pendle's fireworks!.sf2 - CRC failed
Unexpected end of archive

I'm on a mac pro and I tried stuffit expander and unrarX with no luck.

btw- I purchased your dulcitone and harpsi a while ago and love them.

I get the same error using 7-zip (on xp). I dont have winrar installed, but usually 7-zip can do the job with rar files.
