I wanna buy an amp but i want to audition the sound of them before i buy..anyone know of a place where to get samples of the Marshall Amp sounds?

I have some Marshall Tucker samples that have been put though the Jimi Hendrix Small Stone, if that will help.

i dont know what a small tone is or what is marshal tucker, sorry.

too bad the amps at the marshal site don't have audio samples

i wouldnt know what to buy, I bet they all sound alike in the end

Just about every record you own that has guitar distortion on it has a Marshall on it somewhere.
What bands do you like? Find out what amps they use.
Or you might consider buying an amp modeler, like a Line 6 Pocket Pod. Play through the presets to get a general idea of what different amps sound like. Pick your favorite, save up for that one.

you really have to play the amps yourself. everyone sounds different.

see the trick for me is to find the sound for live and record that.

I know when i here it what im looking for..but the thing is to go to the shop and plug in..and then just crank the think ..but theres more to 'my sound' then just the amp, Ive always been fascinated with the stereo sound..for instance
i use to have (before my divorce when i lost everything) a room I had a drummer in the middle and two cabs to the left and right of him..came out into a stereo amp from a chain of rack gear..the drummer was into micing his drums for tone not volume..he put one 15'speaker cab under each of my my cabs, he had his own mixer and stereo amp so when he hit a tom it would make anyone in the fronts t-shirt twitch..anyway it was not really loud but lets just say it didn't sound like he was hitting plastic *L*

anyway there was a sweat spot standing in front on the leads mic in my case the sound just kicked my ass ..in a good way. it inspired my ability to just go with it..i could close my eyes in that zone and fade into a sonic time space..

now i lost all the gear..and want to expand my sound into having a particular edge and bite. something i heard allot in the marshall set ups here and there..

I went to the line 6 amps site nad they had the sound examples to there amps..but it didn't sport that sound i was hoping for..

is it me or is the line 6 very difrent from marshall sounds?

yea thats true..thats really what im noticing now..I just came from the line 6 site and listened o there amp samples..

none of them have the sound im shooting for..

was just wondering if there was a page out there that sported the amp examples of the marshall being that they don't have that on there site..

can someone help me find Marshall Head sound samples.
