cheap 1st mic

Can anyone recommend a decent large diaphragm condenser for around $100. It will be used for vocals and acoustic guitar. I understand that i can spend a couple of hundred more and get something a lot better, but my pockets are hurting and i'm ready to get recording NOW.

I have a JM47 (older version) and it's on a par with microphones at least 3 or 4 times the price. It's also a little cheaper than Scitscat is selling it for on eBay.

My personal suggestion: Save - more - money. In Finland we have this saying "köyhällä ei ole varaa ostaa huonoa", which is roughly translated "poor (= non-rich) can't afford to buy shitty equipment".
Save for few more months and buy RÖDE NT2A. it costs ~$400, but when you get it, you propably don't need another condensator ever (except maybe a pair for drum overheads
).

).Basic EQ tip: highpass all that don't hit subs, usually all but bass and kick

Beghringer B-1 or B-2. Great mic for the price, and fits right in your range. I have used my B-1 on acoustic guitar and it's fantastic.

HM-1 looks good and then they came out with the HM-2d which looks like a voiceover mic similar to shure sm-7b

I would love to get the Rode but i just can't afford that right now. The KEL looks real nice. Anyone using the MXL 990, Behringer B-2 Pro, or Studio Projects B1. I know these are cheap mics, that's the point.
