Does anyone here use the Korg KAOSS KP3 with Cubase 4? Help!

I am having a problem hooking up my kp3 to cubase 4.

What I want to use the kp3 for is to take any synth parts and add some efx through the kaoss pad etc.

Currently I hooked up my outputs on my MOTU ultra lite to the inputs of the kp3 and the outputs of the kp3 to my input 1 on the Motu.

If I want to apply the effect..
I have to solo the track which plays the normal track on my monitors and then have another track solo receiving the input .

The end result is both being played at the same time - and I cant hear it very well since its covered by the other track.

Ideally I would like to route that track instead of going to my monitors but to the kaoss pad first and then back to cubase 4 with the effect.

This way I can apply the effect while hearing the rest of the track instead of having to solo it. Otherwise if I don't solo the track.. the entire output is sent to the kp3.

So is there any way to fix this? To configure certain outputs in c 4?

Why not configure the Kaoss PAd as an external effect in Cubase so you can add it as a Send or an Insert fx ?
