Sounds like you need to connect the audio from the yamaha to your soundcard

Is there a pair of stereo outputs on your yamaha?Get yourself a pair of cables and connect the outs from the yamaha to the ins on your soundcard and you should have audio coming through your speakers when you trigger notes from your yamaha. You might need to set up your soundcard and your hosts prefs so that audio is been received on your tracks in sonar.HTH
