Intelligent Machinery Productions presents
Six Blind Months

Image

Six Blind Months is the culmination of six months of interaction and exchange. Each track contained on this release is based on a collaboration idea, defined by a set of rules, and executed over the course of a month. Contributing artists SIGHUP, Respirator, Normal, Mystahr and Controlled Dissonance share half a year's worth of collaborative sound in this tour de force of dark ambient and abstract noise.

The size of shapes change over time; each represents a new part/gesture. Space in between each set and without the benefit of hearing one another's contributions. Each person sends their track back ; each green box in the middle moves from one distinct vertical position to another steadily over time , so the dynamic range will start at one identifiable dynamic behaviour (e.g. soft) moving to another (e.g. loud). The top of the score doesn't have to equal maximum volume during "April"; create activity ... well... its Rage-03 ... your tracks will be mixed over a bed track which i am creating ... the bed track is about 12 mins in length ... so ... we end up with something Like 'Green Dogs' Relentless Sorrow ' ... or Summat ... I'll put together a mix when everything is uploaded ... I encourage everyone to do their own mix and disburse that track to the remainder of the group. Each member records a single track. The size of shapes change over time and the green box in the middle moves from one distinct vertical position to another steadily over time . If the bottom doesn't have to equal minimum volume, does that count?. Hopefully that isn't too much namby pamby crapola. This scared me even more. Still; string sounds for about 5 to 10 minutes... I can string some FX in a chain? Best named to show their respective order ... i.e.: rage-01. And the green box in the middle moves from one distinct vertical position to another steadily over time , simple like a guest artist creates a 1 minute track • Person A creates a 2 minute track with the guest artist's track mixed somewhere in there • Person B creates a 3 minute track with Person A's track mixed somewhere in there • Person C creates a 4 minute track with Person B's track mixed somewhere in there • Person D creates a 5 minute track with Person C's track mixed somewhere in there • guest artist creates a 6 minute track with Person D's track mixed somewhere in there • This is best ... It's nasty; it's something to listen to ... any objections ?... discuss ... How to read the score: orange - Norm black - Thomas red - Mark blue - John green - Steve Horizontal = time line (total duration = roughly 20 minutes) Vertical = dynamics (no vertical variation = little change in overall dynamics; lots of vertical variation = lots of change in dynamics. As an example provide timbre; some are given; some parts are containers; and disburse that track to the remainder of the group. Each member records a single track.

Oh and bump. It's a long listen, but hopefully rewarding for some.

I will check this out later tonight... in the darkness.
I really like the concepts behind the tracks. Looking forward to the listening!

Anyone listened to it yet? Curious what others think of the results given the methods involved.

Bump in the dark.

I got to listening to most of this late last night. The I was listening for the conceptual and was for the most part impressed because it does shine through. I'm going to have to give it anothr go all the way through with more active ears but so far I like what I'm hearing.

Steve is going to explode if someone doesn't come in here and post some comments.

Thanks for releasing this, it's a good listen. I especially like the approach on 'moy'. I'm still waiting for the film that should accompany these haunting sounds :)
