We escape the trap of our own subjectivity by
perceiving neither black nor white but shades of grey

Post

A composer with synesthesia sees specific colors when he hears music in different musical keys: G minor, for instance, is not just "yellow" but "ocher"; D minor is "like flint, graphite";
Pffft... some expert... what a crock of shit... EVERYONE knows that D minor is the saddest chord, which of course would make it either brown
Brown can also be sad and wistful.
or blue
Blue can also be cold and depressing.

Now here is a widespread problem they discuss:
Che Guevara, he tells us, was "rhythm deaf," capable of dancing a mambo while an orchestra was playing a tango
Troo dat... My boyfriend can do the "little lad running in place" dance to any piece of music.

Hmm. Someone either didn't get enough sleep or is having a bad day. :)

Not saying the book is good or not. Just sharing information. Put on some White Stripes and cheer up. :wink:

Sounds good to me, but it doesn't seem to work for Penelope Cat (the one Pepe Le Pew chases a lot).

In fact, Spinal Tap is the go to for great quotables. Such a brilliant piece of work in so many ways. Why, I'd give it an 11.
