Hi,
In podium, Acousmodule like spatsurround 12 plays directly audio files.wav in the timeline. It has also midi capabilities but I cannot configure it to play directly midi files .mid via device mappings properties or program preset properties: Is it possible and how?
Another little question, Is it an Acousmodule that can interface MIDI keyboard live playing and podium ?
Thanks you for all and happy new year

MIDI inputs in acousmodules and podium ?

I am not sure that I understand your question...
We cannot say that Acousmodules, like any other plugin, "plays" audio files : Podium plays them and the plugin processes the sound.
So, by "MIDI capabilities", do you mean to control the plugin with MIDI datas or process MIDI files ?
In the first case, some parameters of the Acousmodules respond to MIDI control changes, for exemple the X and Y positions generally respond to CC 11 and 12.
If you set a MIDI input to the track that contain the plugin you will be able to control it with external MIDI controllers.
In the second case, there are some MIDI processing plugins, but Podium cannot yet send MIDI datas between plugins and thus cannot process a MIDI file.
But perhaps do you mean to process the sound of and instrument played by a MIDI file on Podium's track ?
This is done exactly the same way as for an audio file, just insert the Acousmodule in the lane above the instrument's one.
I don't understand "interface MIDI keyboard live playing".
Can you explain more ?
But, as I have already said, Podium cannot use MIDI plugins yet.
