How do I record automation when playing an external synth? If I play a pattern in Cubase, and those midi keys trigger the synth, and I decide to tweak the filter or attack on the synth, how do I go about recording that automation? Does the sound have to go into Cubase, out to a mixer, and then back into Cubase in order to be able to record the automation?
