Happy New Year!
To start the new year off, I worked on this piece.( new years eve and today)Its great to start the new year doing music!

The idea is the journey of Nomad ( could be anybody on a spiritual quest) and he goes from one sphere to another looking for his answers.

A bit longer, as it takes a bit of time to build. Got to use some new gear I got for Christmas from my family: a Beringer Tweakalizer..a DJ effect, but not using it for DJ stuff :-) You can hear it in the pads and effects at the beginning of the piece. Then an Instanbul Darbuka ethnic percussion drum. Still getting used to it, but used it on a short segment. Also, I used a bit of JackDark effects in the second segment of effects..the dark part :-) before it goes into the Egyptian style :-)

Vaz Modular, Wusik Station, Cameleon, M42, Synth1, Poizone, Dulcimer , Some secret AlgoMusic stuff, PULSAR, the analog sequencer for Atari run under Steem on PC.

Enjoy and commnets welcome

and oh yeah..

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hi Mystahr

Thanks..thats means a lot comin from you :-)

I had a lot of fun with the tweakalizer..making little performances in eXT and usimg the sampling function in the tweakalizer, plus effects, ( including reversing the sample) and then recording the results in eXT's audio capture. It has a very cool flanger that I have not heard on software plugin. There is a a wheel that when you spin it, it also 'spins' the rate of the lfo controlling the speed of the flanger and also the filter modulation. There is also a twirling swirl sound which is using the "scratch" method on the tweakalizer, and i'm spinning that wheel. :-)

There is also a small guitar part in which I was checking out the JackDark effects on guitar and came across one that really glitches the heck out of my guitar, so did a small guitar 'solo' See if you can spot it.

Just a gentle bump to also say I used a cool analog style sequencer for the 3rd movement called PULSAR

You can have three sequences going at once on different midi channels and also controlling CC's. I had it going into eXT with Synth1 and Vaz. Then used the numerical keyboard to transpose the whole thing( one of my requests, as I helped beta test it) This program is FREE..you just have to set up Steem and MidiYoke, but it's well worth it.

Very good work! I like it too much! :)

Very lifting stuff in this, Tim. Eastern sounds and extraterrestrial soundscapes. Very smooth recording, too. This must have been very satisfying to record.

Hey thanks Jazzy spoon.
However, I played it for my wife, and she thought I should devy it up into two separate pieces as there are separate types of sounds there. Hard to say, as it is definitely not your typical A-B-C piece :-)
