Anybody use Handsonic with a VST?

Tried out the HPD-10 and was very impressed with it. The number of realistic ethnic sounds is somewhat limited, however. I've got GURU and loads of ethnic percussion samples, and I'm wondering how this thing works as a controller only. The default Roland sounds work very well with complex articulations, but I'm wondering if I'd get the same kinda response with GURU, Ethnoworld et al.

Any feedback would greatly appreciated. I'd ask Roland support, but they're all at NAMM for the week. The drummers at GC never seem to know about VSTs, and Pro Audio never knows anything about drums.
