Expression pedal trough a joystick pedal?

Hi, i have previously used a joystick like a midi controller to send CCs. Playing my keyboard i wish to use some kind of expression pedal. Since i use it ocassionally, and my keyboard dont have an input for that kind of pedal, i thought i buy a cheap joystick that are used to play car games (pedals and steering wheel).
What i want to know if anyone has used the pedals of this kind of joystick to send continuous controller data (from 0-127 not only on-off) sucesfully (using the proper software, of course)

Yes, I've done that. And I haven't bought or vandalised any joystick for it, just had to buy a joystick extension cord and a connector. I transferred an old noisy 4-channel phono mixer into a fader box, and have a couple of TRS jacks on it to plug in an expression pedal that then works instead of one of the faders. It also has four switches that can be plugged to a sustain pedal.

The only thing you need is a joystick PORT (the 15-pin DSUB type of connector) on your computer. Older soundblasters have them also, as they're also used to connect the midi in/out breakout cable.
