Simple setup for live Xiosynth

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could advise me on a simple setup using the Novation Xiosynth without a computer for live performance.

I read that sequencing was only possible via USB,but could I possibly play back a sequence in this live setup....for example a bass synth sequence....after sequencing it using USB?

I like the sound of the synth and would like to add it to my live setup.

Any advice is much appreciated.

If you have a hardware sequencer that outputs data via USB, yes. The only thing I know that outputs USB is your basic run-o-the-mill computer.

You can play it by hand, but as far as using it as a sound module, you're out of luck without a computer or the above-stated hw sequencer. I'm strictly going of a picture that shows the Xiosynth has no midi in jack.

I am thinking of a notebook computer run on AC power,would still be a compact setup,that way I will have the USB.
