Problem With M-audio Fast Track Pro

Hi guys, I've recently bought a M-audio Fast Track Pro but it seems that is working under 16 bits, I need to work in 24 bits, I've installed the lastest drivers and I'm using a cool Tapco S8 monitors (by mackie) but as the sound is on 16 bits I can't listen very accurate the frequencies

How I can do to solve this problem? I was trying changing the ckeckpoint from 16 to 24 in the setup program of the audio interface but it returns to 16... I'm getting stressed about this detail because it sounds like my integrated audio card (Realtek AC97)
