I'm reading Deaudmau5's comments on the FXpansion website. He mentions Andy's secret VFilter, anybody know's what plugin he's talking about?
FX - What are your favourite plugins and for what reasons?

D - Andy's "super secret" VFilter, I can't believe I use this thing on every single track. The filters are just SO FAT and soo many lovely flavours to choose from, such a handy handy toy.

(The part i'm quoting is about half the page down).

Just did a quick search and found this: http://www.concretefx.com/VFilter.zip

It is listed at KVR here: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37290

Andy made the Vellocet plugins. I remember one called VFilterNode, not sure it's the same thing.

http://www.vellocet.com/software/alpha/VFilter.html is the one deadmau5 is talking about, I know cause I wrote it. The most recent compile of VFilter is 2001 and it was never released. This predates the ohm force quad frohmage and anteres filter. I planned to release it through FXpansion but was turned down. I have now developed better algorithms and will be starting my own company very soon so keep and eye out.

Interesting. Is there a way to download from the vellocet page? (It wants a login)

any way we can download this??it asks for username and password??

Post

The download is password protected, and the plugin is serial number protected. I did custom builds for every person I gave it to and manually generated a new serial for them. This software is not available to the general public. If I ever get around to putting in on sale I'll make an anouncement. Since someone was asking specifically about it I thought I would let them know and guage interest in such a product.

Current software that includes effects algorithms I have done include: Guru, BFD2, Lucifer, VMinion, and the upcoming Synth Pack from FXpansion.

All the best,

Not a dumb question at all: VMinion is an updated Minion but with all the VFilter's 96 processing algorithms thrown in which include nonlinear svfs, simple nonlinear moog models, combs, phasers, modulatable reverbs etc.

Each of the algorithms has a main "freq" parameter, and "res / feedback" knob, but also a "variation" knob which does things like adjusts the separation between the notch filter and resonant filter (as shown in the Filt1 of the screenshot) or reduce narrow the high and lowpass filter seperation in the feedback path of the phaser (as shown in the Filt2 visualiser of the screenshot).
