Ohm, you mentioned you wanted to mimic Ableton Live as far as MIDI assignment (click on a learn button to assign params) which is a great idea. You also mentioned a while back that you were interested in making a plug similar to Trollo but with Shift/Cntrl etc. options.
I was thinking, how cool would it be to actually implement qwerty key stroke assignment WITHIN liveslice and have the assignment mimic Ableton Live?
So press the learn button for qwerty key assignment and have at it including CNTRL/SHIFT/ALT options (like Live) and also the "F" keys (F1, F2, F3 etc.).
This way one can use their laptop exclusively for live performance should they choose to.
