At one point, someone here (I think The Chase) linked to a zip of about 1500 or 1600 oneshot snare sounds. A real hodgepodge of stuff. Does anyone have that anywhere? My hard drive just died and that was one of the things I lost.

Thanks! Awesome resource. However I'm looking specifically for that collection of 1600 snares, as I used those particular samples in a lot of projects. I scanned that list (looked for "snare") and only saw two snare-specific packages, both of which I downloaded, and neither of which are the collection I need. Any idea where I might find that one?

huh, you're right. For some reason I distinctly remember it being on that page. Trying to track down a place where it's uploaded. I think it's permanently hosted somewhere...

---1600 snares ?! Seriously ? I mean, I do plan to do 1600 tracks, eventually, but man, all 1600 snares at once ?! That'd just be overwhelming, I'd do about 9 or 10 tracks, start to feel trapped in my own destiny, sweat, a lot, pace, chain smoke, then sleep in til noon one Thursday afternoon and immemdiately get up get dressed and get a day jawb if I had 1600 snares at my disposal ha-ha. :hihi:
