ST "Attenzione" !!! and then it locks the host

From Sampletank.
Click "load" at top of screen
I get a message:
Attenzione
PART 1:INSTRUMENT NOT FOUND
And it locks up, and locks the host.
This seems kind of harsh for a several hundred dollar application being sold in 2008.
Thoughts or ideas?

Was it working before or was this right after a new install?timmcallister wrote:From Sampletank.

You have to make sure you have pointed to the instruments folder. Can you run it in standalone ok?
What's the host and OS?
Play what you feel and feel what you play.

Frankly don't know if it was ever working. I got ST and SS in a group buy a few months ago, and have mostly used SS. Due to the color gradients in SS, I can barely read the text in the VSTi "browser" window, so I started to use ST (while the blue SS is "cooler", I can barely read it).beergeek wrote: Was it working before or was this right after a new install?
SS and ST are pointed to the same instrument folder (just double checked).beergeek wrote: You have to make sure you have pointed to the instruments folder. Can you run it in standalone ok?
I get similar behavior in standalone. I get four dialogs (part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, instrument not found). It seems to be searching for multi's or presets??? and barfs when it does not find them.

Host:
Reaper: Reaper doesn't handle it well, it locks up.
Ableton Live 7 handles the condition similar to it running standalone. I get the four errors dialogs and then I'm ok.

let me also concede that the host locking is Reapers fault.

Try using Savihost (tiny little program that you rename to be the same name as the .dll - so it would be sampletank.exe - then run it.)
Make sure your presets are in the INSTALLATION folder of sampletank (usually c:/program files/ik multimedia/sampletank . . .)
There will be a /presets folder.
Your samples need to be whereever you installed them all. Point sampletank to the samples folder and make sure it re-lists them (options/relist on startup - make sure YES is checked).
If that works, it's all your hosts.
I use Sonar 5 PE with ZERO problems.

A side issue -- you can change the display / "lights" color in ST2 to something more readable. Those three tiny knobs at the right edge of the big display control hue, intensity (brightness), and saturation. I forget which is which but each tiny knob has a tiny label. [cue FZ: City of Tiny Lights]

Ah....ok...here's what I THINK the deal is...you need to move all of your presets/instruments/everything into a folder below what ST is trying to look at...timmcallister wrote:Frankly don't know if it was ever working. Seems that it's trying to load stuff on startup and simply can't find the stuff.
Play what you feel and feel what you play.
