Hi everybody,

Searching for an AKAI sample playback software, I read about the Signum S1100. See these pages if you know nothing about this software:

http://www.kvraudio.com/news/5164.html

http://www.kvraudio.com/news/5643.html

On this page --> http://www.kvraudio.com/get/66.html

there is a link to http://www.musicdyne.com/ (http://www.musicdyne.com/) where the software (version 3.3) could be downloaded. Unfortunately, it seems you can't get it anymore.

According to this other page ( http://www.kvraudio.com/a-jan01.php ), the latest version of Signum S1100 is v 3.4. I don't know about this one, but v 3.3 was a freeware. I would really enjoy getting at least the v3.3. (Some previous versions only work as a DX plugin.)

I don't know why I can't find it anywhere but I'm sure someone on this forum has downloaded this software when it was available.

Could someone share the software with me ? I would greatly appreciate !

If you wish, you can send me a private message or e-mail me directly to georgesgreenwood@hotmail.com (mailto:georgesgreenwood@hotmail.com)

Thanks a lot for your help !

ouch!

didnt know!
sorry

i seem to remember tho, that Signum got hosted lately even on sourceforge ...i may be wrong tho, sometimes too many tabs open on Firefox late at night :P
ill try to investigate and eventually come back with news
in the meantime there's webarchive...dunno if it works tho, as i found the installer being more likely a .msi file and most files are slightly screwed on webarchive, at the end of the unrar action..so i guess that its a nono for .exe's..
anyway i found 2 files here
http://web.archive.org/web/*hh_/www.mus ... om/scb.zip
http://web.archive.org/web/200308141933 ... /S1100.msi
or otherwise i think i may have (not 100 % sure) the one that got released when it became freeware (it was announced on Rekkerd.org), so eventually pm me..
Peace

To salvage your Akai S1100 disks you can have a look at this option: http://www.fmjsoft.com/fmt/akai.htm

Unless the author of the software has explicitly stated that it's acceptable to redistribute his or her software without authorization, it would be illegal (and unethical) for anyone else to violate that agreement -- so please don't ask others to do it.

I do hope you're able to locate a legitimate source for the software you want, or something else that will do the same job. Maybe Bert's link will help. Good luck.

No where has the poster ever suggested illegal activity, and there is nowhere in which he has stated to conform to any type of agreement. And we still haven't found out what the user license agreement for this software is.

We also have not found out if "the author of the software has explicitly stated that it's acceptable to redistribute his or her software" so it's all up in the air right now.

Such a demeaning tone toward someone who probably made an honest mistake. I would expect more from a moderator.

If your goal is to use your S1000 library, there are many soft-samplers that will support them and several sample translation programs that can change them to some windows format. I have a large aging Akai collection that is still very useful. I use VSampler (soft-sampler) to play them. It loads them directly without translation. Good luck.

In order to download it you don't have to register. Once you put in your info and hit enter you get a 404 Page every time. But if you just click on the picture it will download it. Or just go here http://www.rocchiluca.com/s1100sampler.zip :D :tu:

Wrong on every single count. I receive no pay from anyone to do this job, never have done, and never will. No compensation of any kind. Why would anyone suck up to a "boss" when there can be no possible advantage?

The only "boss" at KVR is Ben and my purpose is not to please him, but to rid the forums of spam, trolling, and gross incivility such as the filthy racist slur a certain temporarily banned user repeatedly threw about. (How's that for "demeaning?" The transparent hypocrisy of that person's comment above is nothing short of breathtaking.) If Ben is satisfied with this service, that's fine, but I have never based a decision on "making him happy." Sorry, but your assertion is untrue, simply nonsensical.

As I said before, if you disagree with any decision by me or any other moderator you are free to contact Ben to object or complain. If he does not reply, perhaps that's a response in itself; I couldn't say.

Had you approached this issue in a non-adversarial, less snide, less demanding manner I might have felt like sharing a fuller explanation, for instance, pointing out some of the many behind-the-scenes events and other facts of which you are unaware. But I don't respond well to arm-twisting of the kind you've been trying to employ. Therefore this ends my comments on this topic -- I will not reply further.
