In addition to various bug fixes listed on my site, here's what's new:
- Improved additive generator, with up to 64 harmonics and a brand new user interface.
- Resynthesis feature, to load a wav file into the additive editor.
- Overdrive effect.
- Effects settings can be loaded and saved separately.
- New "phase" envelope, useful to make PWM effects without using an additional oscillator.
- DC offset remover option.
- Use arrow keys to move around presets
- Various performance optimizations.
Enjoy the new presets, they really demonstrate what Rhino can do in the area of basses and leads...
Cheers,
'Tick

Wow wow wow wow wow wow wow
Is it just me, or could the monosynth bank be the very best fxb file ever made?
And just take a listen to "Synth Strings 2" in the polysynth bank - could be a real string section!
Absolutely incredible....

Oh my. Has any synth gone through such improvements after release? I am more excited about this than I am about the NI updates.

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

Just a quick question 'Tick:
What format does the wav file have to be to load into the additive editor? I keep getting "invalid patch/bank format".
Cheers,
Dave

Great Job Tick ! ! !
I know I'll be playing with these for a long while . . . Really like the Marcus Bass Patch too
I pulled out your sample mp3 ( that you had posted awhile back ) and was wondering which patch did you use for the first sound you made.
Also got the invalid patch/bank format
. . . . I know it must be a certain type of wave.
Thanks so much again for all the improvements as well ! ! !
Take care,

Sorry guys, I haven't documented the resynthesis feature yet. The imported .wav must be 16 bits mono. ( and whatever sample rate).
Larry, which sample mp3 are you talking about ? It's probably made of unreleased presets, that will be included in the upcoming "ambient pads" bank.

Those new banks are really f**king good! Thanks a lot. I'm a bit synthed out at the moment. Just got Reaktor Sessions too which is equally excellent but cpu usage on that is way too high. Which is why I appreciate the performance optimizations you've made to Rhino. I'm sure it used to be about 20% on my 1.7 GHz before 1.07, but now its more like 12%. Good stuff! Works fine in sonar but you cant use the arrow keys for presets.
I might even start using soft synths in my tracks now! Hmm... my nord modular is coming on Tuesday though. Like I said, all synthed out.
Nice one mate! And the promise of 2 more banks (user and ambient pads)? You really are too kind. The pads in the last two were stunning.
Cheers,
Lee

I don't even own Rhino and I'm getting excited.
I may have to look into one of these, but it will take me a few months at least.

Oh, yes, Rhino is definitely next on my shopping list. I am kicking myself for not giving it the attention it deserves until now.
I can already see that it'll be a joy to create sounds with it...speed on, payday!

Rest assured, Gargoyle, that is a deficit that will be rectified as soon as may be. I am utterly smitten with Rhino...I can see it becoming a very important part of my music and sounds. The resynthesis, the FM, the georgeous effects...it has really knocked me out!
