Anyone know of a reference document for the wavefile format Absynth uses?

No, I don't. I could see if Brian would give it out, thiugh...

So its not a 'known' format then? That explains my fruitless search for a .wav->.gly convertor today. :hihi:

It'd be appreciated, if its possible. Thanks.

OK- I just emailed Brian with a link to this thread.

Much appreciated.

And, I just forwarded to you Brian's response (check your mail). Unfortunately, it's a no-go...

Okay, thanks very much. The response now makes me curious how long it took the Galbanum folk to do it for over 1800 waveforms, though.

Oh well, neffermind. Many thanks to Brian, as well, for his time.

Maybe you already thought of that, but... couldn't you use "import from audio file" (formerly known as "extract from wav") in the "transform" menu?

Of course the problem with that is that you need a wavefile with the exact frequency to get a correct wavetable. If I'm not mistaken, Absynth uses a 1024-point wavetable and extracts the first 1024 samples from the wav file. So in order to get a proper single-cycle waveform, you'd need a frequency of samplerate/1024.

Surely for 1800 waveforms that'd be a tad tedious... :hihi:

yup, spent an hour or two resampling some wav files down to the right length before I posted.

naive resampling actually works best, funnily enough; something like r8brain is so 'good' it screws up the waveform (by bandlimiting the reconstruction, I suspect) :hihi:

ummm, yeah. hence my question :)

I was in the middle of a breakup and had some time on my hands....:-o

kidding... ;-)

I guess I am just obsessive.

I actually have a lot more than that these days, and may make an update at some point in the future. No ETA yet.

Aren't Absynth Soundbanks in the .GLO format? I think so.

The files I was asking about were waveform files, rather than soundbanks.
